A quote from "Dreaming in code" the book

Quote from the book:
"... asked the crowd how many considered themselves "systems architects." Half the audience raised their hands. Another third identified themselves as "systems engineers." The Raytheon exec then asked them to define "systems architect" and distinguish it from "systems engineer." A long silence followed and then a series ... Finally, one attendee stood up and started reciting the verbiage from an IEEE (Institude of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) standards document, whose boilerplate bureaucratic language only underscored the speaker's point: that a room filled with professionals whose work depends on precise specification could neither compose nor agree upon a simple, unambiguous definition of their own job titles."

I've often thought about what my job title is. Lately i've begun to use my educational title.

There is something rotten in the state of Denmark

How come Denmark is derailling so fast at the moment.

I wonder why my familie and I has to be punished for that both my wife and me are not pure Danish.

I has come to the point where i'm not proud to say in Danish!

Though one person that I still have great respect for is HM The Queen of Denmark.

In her New Year talk she said the things that really hurts the Danish pride at the moment. What have we become?

Is the current Danish politics intention to make life miserable or even destructive for families where atleast one part is not native Danish?

If so then it is working great!

I wonder how fx. Lars Løkke Rasmussen would like to live his life from temporary permission to temporary permission. Not knowing what is going to happend when it expires? Ohh yeah you will get promissed another 6 months permission. Then what?

Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen would you be able to send your wife to fx USA, not knowing if you will be able to follow her? If you could follow her would you then be able to pack and finish evertying like fx selling your house, car and so on within lets say 48 hours?

Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, how would you sleep at night, when you never know what might be in the mailbox the next day from the Udlændingeservice?

Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, since there now are prices for everything that has to do with Udlændingeservice. Can I then put those fees on my Selvangivelse so that i can get them refunded that way?

I was reading this Enhedslisten vil lave en Lex Malou for 800000 DKK one could pay many fees
The fee for familie reunification is 5975 DKK

There could be made 133 of these for the price 794675 DKK

If the retired politicians took a retirement cut from 600000 DKK to 400000 DKK a year it could pay 33 familie reunification fees per politician per year!

But as it is today the Danes and there reunited families are the ones paying, both via taxes, fees and emotionel!

I doubt many of the families has an income of 400000 DKK for atleast one of the persons!

This is just a taste of the fustrations that is involved when trying to live in Denmark!

Alarm on IPhone 4 + timechange (Summer -> Winter) = alarm goes off 1 hour to late

An alarm for 6am on weekdays was set and used before time change from summer till winter. On the first weekday after time change it went off at 7am.

A new alarm was made for 8:30am and it went off at 8:30am.

It sounds like a summer/winter time problem.

Does the alarms go by USA's time change? We will see monday.

Or how is it set? Doesn't look like it is set independent of summer/winter time.

HamGadgets

After some savings I had little to go spend on electronics. My choice fell on HamGadgets again.
I needed another picokeyer+, Since our 7 year girl has become very interested in learning morse code.

The package was shipped in the 22. I got it today. Only 4 days later.

I got enough 2N7000's so there is plenty for me to return some to Colin g6avk.

Another weekend..

The lawn has been mowed, the hedges has been trimmed..

Tomorrow i'll have a pair of sore arms tuesday or so!

..

Tomorrow is it monday and a new work week begins.

Both our 7 year old girl and our 2 year old girl has helped me over time picking up the grass and the leftovers from the hedge.

It feels good though to be done with it.

Just got my order from NKC electronics

It is not the last time i look to buy at NKC electronics

I got:

SOIC to DIP Adapter 28-pin (10-pack)
Item#: soic-to-dip-adapter-28pin-10
$19.99

For "regular" "old" sized SMD component like NE602's

TSSOP to DIP adapter 28-pin 0.65mm pitch (5-pack)
Item#: SMD-0028
$9.99

These I got to play with AD9834's and similar.

Might have to talk to one of the soldering ladies at work to solder them.. not that i can't but it would take way longer and be uglier.

HTC Desire & FreeBSD

Well all went fine till I tried to mount the SD-card from my FreeBSD based laptop ..
Well off to Google for a solution and found Mount Android phone in FreeBSD [Solution]

dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/da1 count=0

It seems not to write anything, though it fices "something" down the trail so that /dev/daXs1 is being recognized as an msdosfs formatted partition and it can now be mounted and used (8

Now off to see how to get BT obex ftp to work. Or some other form for filetransfer.. scp or sftp maybe?

ISO 8601 is a good date notation form

Today i stumbled upon the ISO 8601 date notation format. I have for a while been using the form YYYYMMDD, though the ISO 8601 says YYYY-MM-DD.

This is unifies the notation used in USA (MM/DD/YYYY) and in the rest of the world (DD/MM/YYYY).

Another nice feature is that if the ISO 8601 date notation is used in filenames they are easy to sort chronologic order.
